Helping our patients maintain a healthy mouth and smile is the main goal of general dentistry. We prefer to provide more minor, preventive care than to see patients suffer with more intensive treatments from a problem that was not managed in time. We want to ensure that your oral health is in its optimal state and positively contributing to the health of your entire body. We are here to brighten your smile and pave the way for a brighter life.
Preventive Dentistry
Proper dental hygiene is the best way to keep your teeth healthy, beautiful, and functional. You can avoid expensive dental care and discomfort by scheduling bi-annual exams. However, some patients prefer to schedule exams more frequently to keep their teeth and gums extra healthy.
Our caring team at Wilder Dentistry would be happy to help you learn about good dental practices. Every time you visit our office, we will provide you with the cleaning and care you need to enjoy a perfect smile. We will answer any questions you may have about in-office procedures or your at-home care routine.
Dental hygiene is the foundation of good whole body health. Unfortunately, most American adults show signs of gum disease, which leads to tooth loss.
We can help you avoid the consequences of bacteria buildup with advanced services and education. To learn more about what you can gain from a visit to Wilder Dentistry, please contact our caring team today!
You should visit your dental professionals once every six months. We provide affordable and gentle care to all of our patients.
Regular check-ups help maintain the quality of your dental health and can even save your life. Not many people are aware of the warning signs for oral cancer. With every routine check-up, we will also screen you for oral cancer.
Some of the general preventive services we offer include:
Regular check-ups
Gentle cleanings
Fluoride treatments
Dental sealants
Preventive restorations
Dental X-rays
Oral cancer screenings
Preventive Resin Restorations (PRR)
Of course, we will make all of your visits easier with electronic claims, paperless charting, and a selection of options to make you more comfortable.
Cleanings And Exams
Having a dental practice perform regular dental check ups and cleanings allow us to take a preventive approach to your dental health. These general dentistry treatments help prevent problems with your teeth, gums and jaw bones, or they catch and manage problems before they worsen. During your inital visit, our doctors will take a picture of the current standing of your dental health and what would be needed to keep your oral hygiene in its best state.
request an appointmentTeeth Whitening
OTC whitening are not as effective as in office whitening treatments. These products may cause tooth or gum sensitivity. They can take weeks or months to whiten your teeth and they’ll never produce a change greater than a few shades, even with diligent whitening. On top of that, these products may result in sensitive teeth or bleeding gums.
If you want a gorgeous Hollywood smile, it’s time to see our providers for a whitening consultation.
No matter what your sensitivity levels may be, our providers use incredible whitening products that produce stunning results with a minimal time commitment. ZOOM whitening can change your smile up to eight shades. Custom take home trays are used to brighten your smile vs the dramatic change from ZOOM.
Whether you would prefer to whiten your teeth in just one visit while relaxing in the dental chair or in the comfort of your own home, we have options for both. Either way, you can expect stunning results in no time.
request an appointmentFillings
Composite, tooth colored, fillings provide a solution to cavities, chipped/fractured teeth, and some cosmetic reasons like spacing or discoloration. In some instances, they can even help with gum line sensitive spots called abfractions/abrasions.
request an appointmentRoot Canals
If you are experiencing severe tooth pain, you may need root canal therapy. At Wilder Dentistry, we perform root canal procedures routinely with our patient’s comfort always in mind.
Some of the indications of a damaged tooth include:
- Discomfort when biting down or chewing
- Increased sensitivity to hot or cold foods
- Frequent pains or aches in the teeth
- Pimple-like bump on the gums
If any of the above symptoms look familiar to you, it’s important to schedule an exam with one of our dentists right away.
request an appointmentExtractions
An extraction is performed to remove a tooth, whether because of disease, crowding, or damage. When extractions are required, the area around the tooth will be numbed and your dentist will remove the tooth. A minimal amount of bleeding is to be expected, and will subside as the healing process continues.

Oral Cancer Screenings
Nobody wants to hear that they may have oral cancer. Although it can be fatal, it is easier to treat the earlier it is caught. For this reason, we are proud to assist our patients with an oral cancer screening.
Oral cancer will typically show up as white or red patches or lesions inside of your mouth. You may even notice the lesions on your tongue or on the floor of your mouth. Many people experience a hard time swallowing, bleeding in the mouth, or even swelling in your face or neck. If you experience/notice any of these please call our office.
Sealants
Food can easily become trapped within the grooves and ridges of the molars. These areas are difficult to clean and prone to bacteria buildup. Over time, bacteria will harden and can lead to painful cavities or deep tooth decay.
At Wilder Dentistry, we prevent food and bacteria buildup by sealing the back teeth. Sealants create a more even surface on the molars, which prevents the collection of bacteria. Molars with sealants are easier to brush and clean, because there are fewer places for bacteria to hide.
- Cleaning your teeth.
- Apply a gel to the surface of the teeth and let it dry.
- Rinse and dry the tooth.
- Brush on the dental sealant.
- Cure the sealant with a special light.
The dental sealant procedure takes only a few minutes per tooth, and it is painless. Nervous children or adults can feel comfortable throughout the brief sealant process.
We create dental sealants with high quality materials that last up to ten years with proper care. To find out if you or your loved ones could benefit from dental sealants, please give us a call at Wilder Dentistry today!
Night Guards
It can be beneficial to use a guard, or covering, to protect your teeth from grinding while sleeping. Similar to how a mouthguard protects teeth during sports, this layer prevents damage to the teeth that can occur naturally.
There are a wide variety of different types of mouthguards, ranging from pre-formed pieces to ones that are custom fitted to your teeth and jaws. Some of these can even be formed at home through a boil-and-bite process.
Sports Mouth Guards
As dentists, we are determined to make sure your mouth and teeth are well protected during sports activities, no matter what your passion is. To do this, we offer many different types of mouth guards, depending on the types of activities in which you are involved. There are some mouth guards for low-impact sports and others for high-impact sports.
Mouth guards not only protect your mouth and teeth, but also have other purposes. Mouth guards will help decrease the impact if you get hit in the jaw. They have also been shown to increase an athlete’s performance.
Many people clench their teeth while playing, which can give them temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ). Clenching your jaw the whole time can be quite exhausting. Mouth guards help to relax your jaw, allowing you to completely focus on the game!
TMJ Treatment
At Wilder Dentistry, we are proud to offer temporomandibular joint dysfunction, otherwise known as TMJ, treatments to provide relief for our patients. TMJ is caused by an inflammation in the temporomandibular joint, which acts as a sliding hinge that connects your jawbone to your skull.
What are the symptoms of TMJ?
TMJ causes pain and discomfort along the jawbone and can make it painful to even move your jaw. While jaw pain and discomfort don’t always equate to TMJ, if you are also experiencing headaches, trouble chewing, or pain in the face, jaw, and ear, you’re more than likely experiencing TMJ.
Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars. Most people start to get their wisdom teeth when they are teenagers, though some teeth don’t come in until you are in your early twenties.
Wisdom teeth have a purpose. They are another set of molars, but more often than not they cause more problems than they are worth. Wisdom teeth can come in misaligned, facing any direction. They can even try to come in horizontally, growing into your other teeth. This can damage your nerves and even your jawbone.
Since wisdom teeth are often harmful, most dentists recommend their removal. The surgery goes much better if you get the teeth removed before any signs of problem. The recovery is easier also. Surgery and recovery are also easier when you are younger.
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver Diamine Fluoride is an FDA-approved antibiotic topical solution that is clinically applied to control active dental caries and prevent further progression of disease. While the traditional way to treat tooth decay is by removing the decay and placing a restoration, this alternative fluoride treatment allows us to stop decay in it’s tracks by noninvasive methods.
Silver Diamine Fluoride is composed of two primary components: silver and fluoride. The Silver acts as an anti-microbial agent that kills the bacteria that break down tooth surfaces while also working to strengthen the underlying protective layer of your teeth called dentin. Fluoride is the active ingredient that halts the tooth decay, helps prevent additional decay from appearing, as well as keeps the bacteria from spreading to the other teeth.
Treatment with Silver Diamine Fluoride will not eliminate the need for restorative dentistry to repair function or aesthetics, but has been highly effective at prevention of further decay and damage. SDF is a safe, painless alternative to traditional cavity drilling procedures.
